Our History

Proudly serving the community for over 25 years.

Elias DeHerrera and Camelia DeHerrera are Legal Document Assistants. They operate a family owned business providing self-help services for over 25 years. They are authorized by law to provide legal document preparation services to consumers and are registered and bonded in the County of San Diego and County of Santa Clara.  Elias and Camelia are bilingual (English/Spanish).  In 1987 they founded D&C Paralegal Service in San Jose, California (Santa Clara County). The name was later changed to D&C LDA HELP.

» For Attorneys only:  Elias DeHerrera and Camelia DeHerrera also provide sub-contract services as independent paralegals with various support services.

In June of 2011, Elias and Camelia DeHerrera opened their second office in the City of San Marcos, California and bring with them their years of professional, personal and qualified experience. They helped thousands of self-represented individuals successfully complete and file their legal documents according to their specific needs.

 

Elias and Camelia DeHerrera receive certificate from Santa Clara County Superior Court Judges for the Leadership ClassElias and Camelia DeHerrera maintain an ongoing understanding of the changes occurring in the legal system by attending continuing legal education (CLE) classes. In April 2011, both Elias and Camelia received a certificate of completion after attending The Court Community Leadership and Liaison Program from the Superior Court of California in the County of Santa Clara, provided by the Court’s presiding judges and commissioner. They received several certificates for participating and attending various Santa Clara County Family Law Bench and Bar seminars for  Legal Technician and Santa Clara County Family Court Procedural Training for Family Law Attorneys and Family Law Independent LDA’s over the years.

» Past Memberships:

Affiliate Member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, Paralegal Association of Santa Clara County (PASCO), Member of the California Institute for Professional Investigators (CIPI), and Member of East Santa Clara Street Business Association, San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, San Diego Bar Association, La Raza Lawyer Association, Lawyers Club of San Diego CA, Vista CA Chamber of Commerce.


» Leadership:

Elias has served on the Barrister Committee for the Santa Clara County Bar Association, Past President of the CALDA Santa Clara County Chapter, Past Fund Raiser Chair for CALDA, Past Vice President of the East Santa Clara Street Business Association, Past Ambassador for the San Marcos Chamber of commerce and was a valued member of an Advisory Committee for the Legal Assistant Program for Evergreen Valley College in San Jose.

Camelia has served as the past Professional Standards Chair for CALDA, Past secretary and treasurer of the CALDA Santa Clara County Chapter


» Community Involvement
:

Elias DeHerrera served as a Volunteer as a Deputy Commissioner for civil marriage with the San Diego County Recorder’s office and is on the North County Health Services Fund Raising Golf Committee. Elias has the support of his wife and business partner Camelia to get out into the community. Both Elias and Camelia say, “We are strong supporters of our community in which we work and live.”
